AFRIMA Boss Wife, Mrs. Modupe Dada, Laid to Rest Toda

The final rites for Mrs. Modupe Dada will take place today, Thursday, October 24, 2024. Her remains will be interred after a farewell service at the Grace Assembly, located at Yard 158, Kudirat Abiola Way, Oregun-Ikeja, in Lagos State.

Mrs. Dada,  the wife of Afrima Boss, who passed away last Saturday, was the beloved wife of Mike Dada, the President of the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA). Her funeral is expected to gather many dignitaries, as friends, family, and associates come together to pay their final respects.

Prominent figures have continued to share their condolences with the Dada family, expressing deep sorrow over Modupe’s passing. Among those honoring her memory, Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, shared a heartfelt condolence message, noting Afrima boss wife’s vital role in supporting her husband’s accomplishments within Africa’s creative communication and media landscape. Sanwo-Olu described Mrs. Dada as a powerful force, even while working quietly behind the scenes.

He encouraged her husband, Afrima Boss, to find comfort in her enduring legacy of kindness and support, which will remain impactful. “I stand with you in solidarity, sharing in your grief and offering our heartfelt condolences. May God grant you and your family the strength to bear this significant loss,” Sanwo-Olu expressed.

Similarly, Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, extended his sympathy, noting Modupe Dada’s exemplary character. He praised her as a virtuous woman who played a crucial role in her husband’s personal and professional life. “Her passing has left an immense void not only within your family but also among those fortunate enough to know her,” Mbah remarked. “The people of Enugu join your family in mourning and pray for comfort and resilience during this difficult time.”

Former Lagos State Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, who had a longstanding connection with Mrs. Dada dating back to his tenure as Lagos State’s Accountant-General, was one of the first visitors to the Dada residence in Ikeja GRA. Ambode commended Modupe’s profound impact, describing her as a steadfast companion to her husband, especially in his AFRIMA initiatives that celebrate African music and culture.

Ambode offered his wishes for peace and strength to the family as they navigate this profound loss. “She was a remarkable partner and a compassionate soul, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, compassion, and dedication that will not be forgotten. The support she provided throughout your journey was priceless, and her legacy will continue to inspire us all,” Ambode conveyed to Mike Dada.

In addition to Sanwo-Olu, Mbah, and Ambode, a host of other prominent figures have visited the Dada family to offer their condolences. The list includes former Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed; former Group Managing Director of First Bank Nigeria Plc, Dr. Bisi Onasanya; Deputy Inspector General of Police overseeing the Department of Training and Development, Frank Mba; renowned media personality and politician, Dele Momodu; Chairman of the Nigeria Guild of Editors, Eze Anaba; and Chairman of Laralek Ultimate Construction Limited, Mr. Olalekan Adebiyi.

Other dignitaries who have paid tribute include Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Gbenga Omotosho; former Lagos Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Steve Ayorinde; Executive Director of Sterling Bank, Mrs. Tunde Adeola; former Commissioner for Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Mrs. Uzamat Akinbile-Yusuf; Head of Culture at the African Union and former NGE President, Mr. Gbenga Adefaye.

As these esteemed personalities gather, they reflect on Mrs. Modupe Dada’s life, remembering her for her compassionate nature, loyalty, and unwavering support to her family and community. Mrs. Dada’s presence touched countless lives, and her memory will continue to inspire those who knew her.
