The last episodes of the “Karate Kid” sequel series are finally here.
The sixth and final season of Cobra Kai has been slowly released since summer 2024. (If you need a refresher, check out the Part 1 recap.) Now, the last five episodes of this long-running show have arrived. A lot has happened in Part 2, including the return of a major villain, shocking truths about Mr. Miyagi’s past, and a violent end to the Sekai Taikai tournament.
Here’s a breakdown of everything important from Cobra Kai Season 6 Part 2 before the final showdown begins.
Terry Silver’s Return Brings Trouble
One of the biggest twists in Season 6 Part 2 is the return of Terry Silver. The former Cobra Kai leader reappears and surprises Daniel and Johnny with a shocking revelation—he is sick and dying. However, he is not looking for sympathy. Instead, Silver seeks revenge and wants to win the Sekai Taikai tournament for himself. To achieve this, he invests heavily in the Iron Dragon dojo, using his wealth and influence to ensure their victory.
Silver’s plan goes beyond just financing the dojo. He sends Iron Dragon’s fighters to intimidate and attack Miyagi-Do competitors both inside and outside the tournament. Meanwhile, he also plays mind games with Daniel by revealing dark secrets about Mr. Miyagi’s past, shaking Daniel’s confidence right when he needs it most.
Daniel and Johnny’s Personal Struggles
Both Johnny and Daniel deal with personal challenges while trying to focus on the tournament.
For Johnny, there is a happy distraction. In the middle of the tournament, he and Miguel suddenly have to leave for the Valley because Carmen (Vanessa Rubio) goes into labor. They make it just in time for the birth of Johnny’s daughter, giving Johnny a rare moment of joy amid the chaos of the competition.
Daniel, on the other hand, faces a more difficult situation. At the end of Season 6 Part 1, he discovered an old headband belonging to Mr. Miyagi, stained with blood. His curiosity leads him to uncover a shocking truth—Miyagi had once competed in the Sekai Taikai tournament himself.
This revelation alone is surprising, as Miyagi had always claimed he never participated in such competitions. But the real shock comes when Daniel learns that Miyagi was fighting for money and, during one of his matches, accidentally killed his opponent.
This revelation shakes Daniel to his core, leaving him deeply unsettled for the rest of the season.
The Sekai Taikai Tournament Ends in Chaos
Part 2 ends with the Sekai Taikai tournament taking a shocking and bloody turn.
During the semifinals, Miyagi-Do faces off against Silver’s Iron Dragons, while Cobra Kai watches from the sidelines. Cobra Kai had been disqualified earlier but was reinstated after another dojo was caught using performance-enhancing drugs.
The tension builds during Robby’s (Tanner Buchanan) match against Axel. As the fight intensifies, Robby is thrown off the mat. Kwon (Brandon H. Lee), Cobra Kai’s latest troublemaker, takes this opportunity to elbow Robby in the ribs. After days of heated arguments, Robby finally snaps and fights back.
This small fight quickly escalates into an all-out brawl. Every competitor, whether still in the tournament or already eliminated, joins the chaos.
Behind the scenes, Silver and Kreese (Martin Kove) have their own battle. The two former allies face off in a brutal fight. Silver gains the upper hand and is about to kill Kreese when Johnny intervenes just in time to stop him.
Meanwhile, on the main stage, things spiral even further out of control. In the middle of the riot, Kwon finds a eujangdo knife that Kreese had dropped earlier. Fueled by anger, he decides to use it against one of his opponents.
As Daniel rushes to stop him, Kwon attempts a roundhouse kick while holding the knife. But before he can complete the move, he is struck midair and accidentally falls onto the blade himself.
The tournament comes to a horrifying end as the fighters gather around Kwon’s lifeless body. His death, caught on live television, sends shockwaves through everyone watching.
These shocking events set the stage for an intense conclusion in Cobra Kai Season 6 Part 3.
