Taylor Swift may have tried to ignore the negative reaction at the 2025 Super Bowl, but the incident continues to grab attention.
During the game on February 9, cameras captured Swift in the crowd while watching Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs face off against the Philadelphia Eagles. As her image appeared on the jumbotron, boos echoed throughout the stadium. Trump, who attended the event, quickly commented on the situation.
“The only person who had a worse night than the Kansas City Chiefs was Taylor Swift,” Trump wrote on Truth Social after the game in New Orleans. “She got BOOED out of the stadium. MAGA never forgets!”
Despite the reaction, Swift didn’t seem too bothered. The jumbotron first showed Adam Sandler sitting next to Paul Rudd before cutting to Swift, who was with rapper Ice Spice. When the crowd’s boos grew louder, Taylor widened her eyes, exchanged a look with her “Karma” collaborator, and then both laughed it off.
Trump and Taylor Swift’s Ongoing Feud
Trump’s recent remark about Swift is just the latest in a long history of his criticism of the pop star.
Back in September, Swift publicly endorsed then-Vice President Kamala Harris for president. In her statement, she also addressed AI-generated images falsely claiming she had supported Trump in the 2024 election.
Following her endorsement, Trump shifted his focus to Brittany Mahomes, the wife of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, making it clear that he preferred her over Swift.
“I actually like Mrs. Mahomes much better,” Trump said during an interview on Fox News on September 11. “She’s a big Trump fan. I never really liked Taylor Swift. It was only a matter of time before she endorsed a Democrat. She always does. And honestly, she’ll probably pay for it in the marketplace.”
Trump continued to praise Brittany, calling her “a big MAGA fan” and “terrific,” while dismissing Swift’s influence.
A few days later, Trump escalated his remarks further by posting on Truth Social, “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!”
Taylor Swift Remains Unbothered
Despite Trump’s criticism, Swift has never responded directly to his remarks. Instead, she continues to focus on her music and career.
As for Super Bowl LIX, while the Chiefs suffered a tough loss, Swift seemed to enjoy the game with friends. Even after being booed, she maintained her composure, proving once again that she won’t let negativity get in her way.
