Ezekiel ThankGod, popularly known as Eezee Tee, has been taken to court for allegedly misappropriating $264,000 belonging to gospel singer Judith Kanayo, who is professionally known as JudiKay.
Eezee Tee, a gospel singer and the owner of EeZee Concept, a prominent gospel record label, is accused of withholding funds generated by JudyKay.
An independent audit firm, Person Consulting, carried out a detailed investigation. The audit revealed that $264,000 earned from platforms like YouTube had not been handed over to JudyKay as expected.
Following this revelation, the audit report was submitted to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), leading to formal charges being filed against Eezee Tee. He now faces three counts in court.
One of the charges states that Eezee Tee Global Concepts Limited retained $264,494, which allegedly belonged to Judith Kanayo (JudiKay) and another gospel singer, Mercy Chinwo. This action is said to violate Section 18(2)(d) of the Money Laundering (Prevention and Prohibition) Act, 2022, and is punishable under Section 18(3) of the same Act.
The Federal High Court of Nigeria is currently handling the case, and further proceedings are expected soon.
