The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has provided a specific phone number and email address to help its members and the public submit any evidence related to an ongoing investigation. This probe is focused on allegations of homosexuality involving two of its leaders.
On Tuesday, reports surfaced that Pastor Ayorinde AdeBello and Deacon Oke Mayowa had been suspended from their roles due to alleged misconduct related to homosexuality with young members of the church.
The RCCG has assigned the Special Assistant to the General Overseer on Administration to investigate these allegations thoroughly, setting a two-week timeframe for the process.
A statement released on Tuesday, signed by the RCCG National Overseer, Pastor Sunday Akande, and titled “RCCG Addresses Allegations Against Youth Ministers,” urges anyone with information to come forward to assist the investigation.
“We are inviting anyone with credible evidence to support our investigation to share it. Please understand that only relevant and verified information directly related to this case will be reviewed; any other submissions will not be considered.
“Evidence should be directed to the Special Assistant to the General Overseer [Administration] via email at rccgadm@gmail.com or phone at 09039000700. We appreciate your cooperation in our pursuit of justice and in ensuring a complete and fair investigation,” the statement reads.
The church clarified that this investigation aims to be comprehensive and impartial.
“As a precaution, the youth ministers involved have been placed on indefinite suspension and removed from all ministerial duties until the investigation concludes,” the statement continued.
Pastor Akande emphasized that RCCG’s foundation is built on principles of holiness, which is evident in its teachings and practices.
“Our commitment is to transparency, and we will not condone or hide any actions that go against our core beliefs,” he stated. “We are grateful for any support in this matter and encourage individuals or groups with solid evidence to provide relevant details.”
