In a powerful display of integrity and courage, an Immigration Officer identified as Prince Orji Ugochukwu (Facebook: Okeosisi Ugo) refused a bribe of ₦10 million and expensive smartphones from a wanted ritualist trying to flee Nigeria.

The suspect, known as Ezeani, also called Ichie Billion, is allegedly behind a series of horrifying ritual killings. He reportedly buried several victims alive in a soakaway pit in his compound located in Umumba, Ezeagu LGA, Enugu State. According to sources, Ezeani is part of an occult group involved in human sacrifice for wealth and power rituals.

A close associate of Officer Ugochukwu shared the shocking incident exclusively with us. Here’s what really happened:

How the Arrest Happened

On a Wednesday afternoon, while on duty at a checkpoint near Gbaji along the Seme border road, Officer Ugochukwu spotted a suspicious man on a motorcycle. The man’s face seemed familiar—Ugochukwu had seen his photo circulating online as a fugitive.

The officer tried to stop the motorcycle, but the rider refused to obey. Acting fast, Ugochukwu jumped on another bike and chased them down. He intercepted the suspect at another checkpoint up the road.

Not taking any chances, the officer joined the suspect on the bike and instructed the rider to head back to his original post.

The Bribe Attempt

During the return trip, the suspect started questioning the officer. Ugochukwu showed him the viral photos and accused him of the crimes. The suspect denied everything, claiming the man in the photos was his brother, and that he had just returned from a bank in Agbara.

Then, he attempted to bribe the officer.

He first offered ₦10 million to be released. When that didn’t work, he added his iPhone 13 Pro Max and a Tecno Camon 19, claiming the iPhone alone was worth ₦1 million.

He begged. He pleaded. But Ugochukwu didn’t budge.

Refusing to accept the money or gadgets, Officer Ugochukwu returned the suspect to the checkpoint and took fresh photos for verification. He then alerted the Seme Border Patrol Command.

After confirming the suspect’s identity, he handcuffed him and transported him to the command headquarters. Ugochukwu’s colleagues were initially skeptical—none of them recognized the man. But he did, and he followed through.

Why This Matters

This story highlights two things. First, that dangerous individuals are still trying to use illegal means to escape justice. Second, and more importantly, that Nigeria still has men of integrity willing to stand for what’s right—even when it’s dangerous or tempting to do otherwise.

Officer Ugochukwu’s brave and honest actions stopped a suspected serial killer from slipping out of the country. In a time when stories of corruption are common, this officer stood tall.

Final Thoughts

The attempted escape of a suspected ritualist could have gone unnoticed. But one vigilant and morally upright officer made the difference.
